Individual physician and physician group professional liability insurance is available on a Reporting Policy form. This is a reporting form of a claims-made insurance policy.This type of policy encourages incident reporting, and by reporting, coverage will be provided (if the incident becomes a claim) if it is not otherwise excluded and the claim is reported to the company by the insured during the policy period.

The policy provides coverage for medical professional liability, peer review, defense costs/supplementary payments, and medical payments.

MICA's product development staff constantly reviews our policies to make sure they address the most current coverage issues. Our individual and group policy features consent to settle without a hammer clause and defense costs outside the policy limits. Our Medefense coverage provides reimbursement for legal defense for disciplinary, criminal and billing error proceedings; billing error fines and penalties; and individual tax audit fees.
